Position Summary

The Social Media Account Manager is responsible for owning and executing campaign-driven social media strategy across assigned client accounts. This role requires both strategic thinking and disciplined execution, operating within OMG’s defined campaign framework to ensure all content is intentional, aligned, and performance-driven.

This is not a passive content posting role. The Social Media Account Manager is accountable for ensuring that every post serves a clear purpose within a broader campaign, and that all output meets OMG’s standards for quality, consistency, and effectiveness.

This role works closely with the Director of Client Strategy and internal team members to translate client objectives into structured campaign plans and high-quality social execution.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Planning

  • Own social media campaign planning for assigned client accounts using OMG’s defined campaign framework
  • Develop monthly campaign themes, objectives, and messaging pillars aligned to client goals
  • Define clear target angles and content direction for each campaign
  • Map all planned content to campaign objectives, ensuring intentional and cohesive execution
  • Present and defend campaign approach internally and, when appropriate, to clients
  • Contribute to higher-level campaign and marketing strategy discussions in partnership with the Director of Client Strategy
  • Provide strategic input and recommendations beyond defined frameworks based on performance data and market insights 

Content Planning & Execution

  • Build and maintain content calendars at least 3–4 weeks in advance using Sprout Social
  • Ensure every post is mapped to a campaign, messaging pillar, and objective prior to publishing
  • Write, edit, and publish high-quality content that reflects each client’s brand voice and positioning
  • Coordinate with internal creative team via Monday.com to execute photo/video and design needs
  • Develop and maintain brand style guides and content direction for each client

Execution Oversight & Quality Control

  • Ensure all content aligns with campaign strategy and OMG quality standards
  • Eliminate filler or non-strategic content from deliverables
  • Participate in weekly campaign and content review sessions, incorporating feedback into execution
  • Continuously refine content approach based on performance and internal feedback

Platform Management & Community Engagement

  • Manage daily activity across client platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit) using Sprout Social
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify trends, conversations, and opportunities to increase engagement and reach
  • Maintain brand reputation and escalate issues appropriately

Analytics & Performance Optimization

  • Utilize Sprout Social and internal reporting tools to track performance and identify trends
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust content strategy accordingly
  • Contribute insights and recommendations to improve future campaign performance
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and aligned with performance goals

Client Communication & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction
  • Present monthly reporting and performance insights
  • Identify opportunities for additional work or expanded scope and communicate to leadership
  • Maintain clear documentation of client communication, action items, and deliverables

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 2 – 5 years of experience managing high-volume social media accounts in an agency or brand environment
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or executing structured marketing campaigns

Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, and content best practices
  • Familiarity with firearms, outdoors, hunting, fishing, or defense industries strongly preferred
  • Understanding of content limitations, compliance considerations, and platform restrictions within regulated industries

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Sprout Social or similar scheduling platform
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (basic design capability)
  • Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com

Stand Out Qualifications

  • 3+ years of marketing agency experience managing multiple client accounts
  • Experience integrating organic social with paid media campaigns
  • Deep knowledge of firearms and outdoor industry culture, products, and audiences
  • Existing network within the industry
  • Understanding of regulatory and platform compliance considerations
  • Prior experience managing a team

Compensation & Benefits

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (in-office)
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)

About the Role

The Email Marketing Strategist owns email and SMS marketing for our entire client roster from end to end. You’ll build, launch, and optimize campaigns and automated flows across multiple clients simultaneously, handling everything from strategy and segmentation to copywriting, design, and reporting. This is a high-autonomy individual contributor role for someone who can run the channel independently and deliver results without day-to-day oversight. Leadership provides strategic direction on platforms, budgets, and performance priorities; you execute and own the work.

This is an in-person position based in north Phoenix, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign & Flow Management

  • Own email and SMS marketing end-to-end across multiple clients simultaneously
  • Build, schedule, and deploy campaigns including promotions, newsletters, product launches, and announcements
  • Develop and maintain automated flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, and lifecycle journeys)
  • Manage send calendars and coordinate timing with broader client marketing activity
  • Execute A/B testing on subject lines, content, send times, and segmentation

Strategy & Segmentation

  • Develop channel-level email and SMS strategy for each client
  • Build and manage list segmentation, personalization, and targeting
  • Maintain list health, hygiene, and deliverability
  • Manage opt-in/opt-out, consent tracking, and compliance with CAN-SPAM and TCPA
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue and engagement through the email and SMS channels

Content & Design

  • Write all email and SMS copy, including subject lines, preview text, body content, and calls to action
  • Design and build email templates and graphics independently
  • Ensure all creative is brand-aligned, mobile-responsive, and optimized for performance
  • Coordinate with content creators to source photography and visual assets as needed

Reporting & Optimization

  • Track and report on performance across all clients (open rates, click rates, conversions, revenue, list growth)
  • Deliver monthly reporting with insights and recommendations
  • Continuously optimize campaigns and flows based on performance data
  • Surface strategic recommendations to leadership on platforms, budget, and channel priorities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work as part of account-based teams to align email and SMS with broader client goals
  • Coordinate with social media, digital advertising, SEO, and content teams on integrated campaigns
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders on timelines, deliverables, and results

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, OR four years of direct experience as an email marketing manager at a marketing agency in lieu of a degree
  • Agency experience managing email and SMS for multiple clients simultaneously (required, no exceptions)
  • Multiple years of hands-on experience with Klaviyo (required)
  • Proven ability to own email and SMS marketing end-to-end with minimal oversight
  • Strong copywriting skills for both email and SMS
  • Graphic design skills with the ability to build polished, on-brand email creative independently
  • Working knowledge of automation, segmentation, deliverability, and list management
  • Understanding of email and SMS compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA)
  • Familiarity with firearms, tactical, outdoor, and related brands, and a genuine interest in the industry
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage competing deadlines across accounts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional email and SMS platforms (Listrak, Mailchimp, Attentive, Postscript, etc.)
  • Klaviyo certification
  • Experience marketing in regulated or firearms-adjacent industries
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Monday.com preferred)
  • Personal interest or background in firearms, hunting, shooting sports, or the outdoors

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per year
