Position Summary

The Social Media Account Manager is responsible for owning and executing campaign-driven social media strategy across assigned client accounts. This role requires both strategic thinking and disciplined execution, operating within OMG’s defined campaign framework to ensure all content is intentional, aligned, and performance-driven.

This is not a passive content posting role. The Social Media Account Manager is accountable for ensuring that every post serves a clear purpose within a broader campaign, and that all output meets OMG’s standards for quality, consistency, and effectiveness.

This role works closely with the Director of Client Strategy and internal team members to translate client objectives into structured campaign plans and high-quality social execution.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Planning

  • Own social media campaign planning for assigned client accounts using OMG’s defined campaign framework
  • Develop monthly campaign themes, objectives, and messaging pillars aligned to client goals
  • Define clear target angles and content direction for each campaign
  • Map all planned content to campaign objectives, ensuring intentional and cohesive execution
  • Present and defend campaign approach internally and, when appropriate, to clients
  • Contribute to higher-level campaign and marketing strategy discussions in partnership with the Director of Client Strategy
  • Provide strategic input and recommendations beyond defined frameworks based on performance data and market insights 

Content Planning & Execution

  • Build and maintain content calendars at least 3–4 weeks in advance using Sprout Social
  • Ensure every post is mapped to a campaign, messaging pillar, and objective prior to publishing
  • Write, edit, and publish high-quality content that reflects each client’s brand voice and positioning
  • Coordinate with internal creative team via Monday.com to execute photo/video and design needs
  • Develop and maintain brand style guides and content direction for each client

Execution Oversight & Quality Control

  • Ensure all content aligns with campaign strategy and OMG quality standards
  • Eliminate filler or non-strategic content from deliverables
  • Participate in weekly campaign and content review sessions, incorporating feedback into execution
  • Continuously refine content approach based on performance and internal feedback

Platform Management & Community Engagement

  • Manage daily activity across client platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit) using Sprout Social
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify trends, conversations, and opportunities to increase engagement and reach
  • Maintain brand reputation and escalate issues appropriately

Analytics & Performance Optimization

  • Utilize Sprout Social and internal reporting tools to track performance and identify trends
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust content strategy accordingly
  • Contribute insights and recommendations to improve future campaign performance
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and aligned with performance goals

Client Communication & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction
  • Present monthly reporting and performance insights
  • Identify opportunities for additional work or expanded scope and communicate to leadership
  • Maintain clear documentation of client communication, action items, and deliverables

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 2 – 5 years of experience managing high-volume social media accounts in an agency or brand environment
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or executing structured marketing campaigns

Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, and content best practices
  • Familiarity with firearms, outdoors, hunting, fishing, or defense industries strongly preferred
  • Understanding of content limitations, compliance considerations, and platform restrictions within regulated industries

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Sprout Social or similar scheduling platform
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (basic design capability)
  • Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com

Stand Out Qualifications

  • 3+ years of marketing agency experience managing multiple client accounts
  • Experience integrating organic social with paid media campaigns
  • Deep knowledge of firearms and outdoor industry culture, products, and audiences
  • Existing network within the industry
  • Understanding of regulatory and platform compliance considerations
  • Prior experience managing a team

Compensation & Benefits

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (in-office)
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)

About the Role

The TECHNICAL MARKETING STRATEGIST ensures every piece of photo and video content we produce is technically accurate, visually compelling, and authentic to the firearms and tactical industries. You’ll provide creative direction to Social Media Account Managers, Photographers, and Videographers while leveraging deep product knowledge to elevate content quality. This role combines hands-on production oversight with strategic brand relationships and social media trend monitoring.

This is an in-person position based in north Phoenix, Arizona.

Primary Responsibilities

Content Production Oversight & Technical Direction

  • Provide on-set creative direction during photo and video production
  • Assist with product setup, configuration, and technical accuracy for all shoots
  • Review content for authenticity, realism, and industry credibility before client delivery
  • Guide photographers and videographers on composition, lighting, and execution
  • Advise social media team on content strategy and execution standards
  • Participate in pre-production planning and shot list development
  • Ensure all deliverables meet OMG quality standards

Technical Product Expertise

  • Ensure firearms, optics, lights, slings, and accessories are configured correctly for intended use
  • Translate product features into compelling visual narratives
  • Identify and correct technical inaccuracies in content
  • Stay current on new releases, industry trends, and emerging gear categories
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of firearms platforms and tactical equipment

Brand Outreach & Product Acquisition

  • Build relationships with firearms, optics, and tactical gear brands
  • Secure products for client content shoots through brand outreach
  • Coordinate product loans and sample requests
  • Manage product inventory for content production
  • Identify cross-brand integration opportunities

Social Media Trends & Content Innovation

  • Monitor platform trends, emerging formats, and algorithm changes
  • Keep production team current on trending audio, formats, and creative approaches
  • Provide guidance on trend integration and content innovation
  • Share competitive insights with creative team

Secondary Responsibilities

The following activities leverage your existing brand relationships and industry connections when opportunities arise:

Business Development Support

  • Identify prospective clients through industry networking
  • Qualify leads and introduce them to Director of Client Strategy
  • Represent OMG at industry events and trade shows
  • Build agency visibility within the firearms and tactical marketing space

Influencer & Affiliate Program Development

  • Support development of influencer affiliate programs for future client offerings
  • Identify potential influencer partners during brand outreach activities
  • Coordinate influencer product seeding when appropriate
  • Gain familiarity with affiliate platforms (Avantlink) for future program management

Required Qualifications

Experience & Industry Knowledge

  • 5+ years professional experience in firearms, tactical, or outdoor marketing
  • Deep, expert-level knowledge of firearms platforms, optics, and tactical gear
  • Strong understanding of real-world applications across military, law enforcement, competition, and civilian markets
  • Credibility within firearms and tactical community
  • Understanding of industry regulations and content restrictions

Technical & Creative Skills

  • Understanding of photography and videography composition and lighting
  • Ability to provide clear creative direction to production team
  • Eye for visual quality, authenticity, and brand alignment
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content trends
  • Familiarity with Avantlink or similar affiliate platforms (preferred)

Communication & Leadership

  • Strong communication skills with ability to provide constructive feedback

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience)
